Just so you know that I put my money where my mouth is … I posted my very first homebrew video to YouTube this week, a rambling demonstration of the use of a Washington State absentee ballot. Secret ballot, hell – what secret?
Not to say this is the best demonstration of the subject; in point of fact, it’s kinda lame. Probably due to being unscripted, not well-thought-out, done on the spur of the moment, produced on my laptop’s built-in webcam, and having been my very first crack at using Windows Movie Maker. (A decidedly lame and low-capability tool to begin with.) I must admit, the phrase that came to mind when I first watched the finished product was a quip from David Sedaris: “There’s a reason regular people don’t appear on TV: we’re boring.”
Still, what the heck? It was fun. It’s a start. It was a learning experience. And you all get to watch me sitting around Ulsan, being a good US citizen and Doing My Civic Duty, as a Participant in Our Democracy.
Enjoy:
Interesting instructional video…but personally, I’d like to see you post one with some guitar music and singing — prefereably yours! But fun to see you live and in color, and know you’re really out there!
Love you!
